Curriculum for Excellence has been introduced to raise standards of learning and teaching for all 3 to 18 year olds. It aims to help prepare children and young people with the knowledge and skills they need in a fast changing world. As part of Curriculum for Excellence all children from pre--school to the end of S3 will receive a rounded education known as a Broad General Education (BGE). Curriculum for Excellence is all about bringing real life into the classroom and taking lessons beyond it.At the nursery we provide a broad and balanced curriculum. Literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing are embedded in the curriculum. A wide range of activities and opportunities are offered to our children, both within the nursery, in our outdoor play area and on outings. The curriculum plans are based on the children’s interests, seasonal and cultural events and are designed to meet the needs of the individual.

The curriculum offers challenge and flexibility.   We also invite other professionals to the nursery to work with the children, increasing their knowledge and understanding. Parents are invited to come along to some of the events. Staff work together to provide a supportive learning environment for the children. Our recourses are chosen carefully to support the varied age ranges and abilities of the children.
